Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has appeared before the Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for appointment as INEC chairman for a second term.
Yakubu appeared before the committee chaired by Senator Kabiru Gaya on Thursday.
The professor arrived at the National Assembly in company of the senior special assistant to the president on National Assembly matters (Senate) Senator Babajide Omoworare.
Senate President Ahmad Lawan had instructed the committee on Wednesday at plenary to get to work and turn up its report on Yakubu and one national commissioner nominee Abdu Zuru latest on December 1.
