The police have reportedly got hold of a man who lodged at Wetland Hotel in Akobo area of Ibadan, Oyo State with Instagram cloth vendor Adeshina Olayinka aka Khadi.
The suspect, name withheld, is said to have been detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku, Ibadan, reports PUNCH.
The man reportedly presented himself voluntarily to the police at Akobo Police Station after he was informed of the vendor’s death.
A member of staff of the hotel told the newspaper that after the incident, the hotel “called the suspect to inform him about the incident. He was shocked and rushed down to the hotel to present himself to the police.”
Khadi complained of weakness the night before her death, the man was quoted to have said.
The vendor, reports say, informed a friend of hers of a meeting with an individual at Wetland Hotel on the night of Wednesday, April 5.
The man she was with, however, checked out early on Thursday morning.
It was gathered that the hotel put a phone call to Khadi’s room and she confirmed her safety to the receptionist.
Hours later, the receptionist found that Khadi was not responsive and raised alarm. The vendor was rushed to a hospital where she was confirmed dead.
