The remains of businessman Isa Funtua have been interred at the Gudu Cemetery at Abuja.
Funtua died of cardiac arrest on Monday night aged 78.
He was the pioneer president of the Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN) and former managing director of the defunct Democrat Newspapers.
Before his burial on Tuesday, prayers were held at the Shehu Shagari Central Mosque, Area 1, Garki, Abuja.
Dignitaries who attended the funeral include nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari, Mamman Daura; former Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun; FCT Minister Mohammed Musa Bello; Senator Tunde Ogheha; Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni; pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu; chairman of ThisDay Newspapers and Arise TV, Nduka Obaigbena among others.
Funtua was an in-law and close associate of President Buhari.
