Comedian and actor, Akpororo, has stated that it is tough it is to meet up with the expectations of fans who expect new jokes at every show.
The father of three is regarded by many as not only creative but intelligent as well, going by his performances, said that satisfying fans’ requests of dishing out new jokes at every event was very difficult.
In an Interview with Punch Published on Saturday, Apkororo born Jephthah Bowoto, disclosed that the most important ritual he performs before going on stage is to pray, rather than creating new jokes, he freely flows with the mood and atmosphere of a place to entertain his audience.
“Fans always want me to come up with new jokes for every show, but this is not possible because I am not a computer.
“I rely on freestyle and spontaneity to come up with fresh jokes while at a show. It is not possible to create new jokes for every show, it is tough.
“As a comedian, I am in this art because I love what I do. Though some might have come into the industry as a result of unemployment, there are a lot in the industry like me who genuinely chose this path,” he said.
When asked if he had plans to relocate out of Okokomaiko where he currently resides to a plush neighbourhood in Lagos, the entertainer gave an epic response, revealing that his current locality is whatever he wants it to be for him.
“Though Okoko is my neighbourhood, I have made it my own Banana Island, Lekki and even Ikoyi.
“I believe that you can make anywhere you stay to be like where you want it to be. This is my belief. As far as I am concerned, I am living in Banana Island despite the fact that I am in Okoko because I have made it to be so.
“I am not the type that is easily carried away by trends or try to impress people. I am my own man and I am happy about this,” the comedian stated.
