Singer and actress Ego Ihenacho has said that it is wrong to assume that Lagbaja stopped performing because she left the band.
Ego, who left the band in 2006, disclosed this in an interview with the QEDNG publisher, Olumide Iyanda, saying that Lagbaja continued performing after she left the band.
She said: “But he is still performing, please let’s change this narrative of ‘since you left, we’ve not heard from either of you’. The fact that he is not making noise and I’m not making noise doesn’t mean we’re not doing our own thing. We are doing our own thing. So we are good.
“Life is in phases, you can’t expect him to continue doing all that forever. He might decide that ‘Okay I want to be doing production, I want to be behind the scenes.'”
When asked if she missed the monthly show at Lagbaja’s Motherlan’, the Wura actress said: “I miss Motherlan’ a lot. Like I said, it was just a vibe. There was something to look forward to. we had everybody and there was just that common thing for everybody at that time, you know, the jokes, the music, we had the old, the young it was just amazing. It was just a nice vibe so I miss that.”
