Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, has said that she has acted as both father and mother to her children for over 18 years.
The 40-year-old movie star said this in an Instagram post on Sunday.
“It’s takes only a Bad Ass Mom to be both Father and Mother 👊👊👊 Almost 18 years now and it has been nothing but God’s amazing grace!” she wrote.
In 2017, Mercy Aigbe set the social media ablaze with images of her battered face from the beating she allegedly suffered at the hands of her estranged husband, Lanre Gentry.
Gentry was remanded in prison after he was arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Lagos on a three-count charge under the State Criminal law 2011.
Upon his release, he launched a social media war against the actress whose complaint to the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) led to his detention.
He accused her of sleeping around and not caring for her own parents among other things.
In August 2018, she revealed that her daughter, Michelle, was set to resume her studies at an international university.
Michelle is Mercy Aigbe’s first child of two children. She had her other child, Juwon Gentry for her husband, Lanre Gentry.
