Maryanne Moghalu, wife of a former presidential candidate, Kingsley Moghalu, has said that she has instructed her teenage daughter to ‘aim to maim’ any potential rapist.
Mrs Moghalu said this in a tweet early Saturday following allegation of rape against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) by Busola Dakolo, wife of singer and songwriter, Timi Dakolo.
Mrs Dakolo had in an interview with Chude Jideonwo on YNaija TV revealed that as a teenager in the Divine Delight Club, the precursor to COZA, she was groomed and raped by the pastor.
The mother of three said it happened while she was a 16-year-old secondary school student living with her parents in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Fatoyinbo, responding on Friday evening, denied raping Busola or any other person.
Calling the credibility of his accuser and her musician husband, Timi, to question, he threatened to take legal action against all those directly or indirectly involved in the allegation.
Moghalu tweeted, apparently on the issue, that her 16-year-old daughter would be studying a free six-week course on self defense.
She also said her instruction to her teenage daughter was to ‘aim to maim’ potential rapists.
“Today I took my 16yr old daughter to the orientation for her university. The school offers a free 6wk course on self defense. She will take it and my instructions to her is to aim to maim. She will not be a statistic. No girl should. #EndRapeNow #NoToRape,” she wrote.
Kingsley Moghalu and Maryanne got married in 1994. They have four children.
