Nollywood actress, Chioma Akpotha, on Monday gave a glimpse of the challenges she had faced so far as she clocked 38.
In a message posted on Instagram, the Wives on Strike actress said she would be a liar if she said things have always been fine with her.
“Truth is I have been down and out,” she wrote.
According to her, she has been tossed up and down and almost to the ground, been lied on, bad-mouthed, talked ill about, misunderstood most times and abused.
“BUT when I look back, all I see is a HAND!” she added.
Born Chioma Chukwuka, in Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra State, Nigeria, the actress attended Onward Nursery and Primary School in Lagos State before proceeding to Federal Government Girls College in Onitsha, Anambra State for her secondary education.
She then headed to Lagos State University where she studied banking and finance.
Regarded as one of the most beautiful dark-skinned actresses in an industry that promotes fair skin, Chioma’s acting career began with The Handkerchief in 2000 and she has gone on to star in over 80 movies.
She was named Best Actress in a Lead Role at the 2007 African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for the movie Sins of the Flesh.
