Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, says he is yet to move to a new political party, following his departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mr Obaseki stated this on Wednesday via Twitter, adding that his priority at the moment is to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease.
He wrote, “I have not moved to a new platform yet to seek re-election. My focus now is to control the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, which is ravaging our country and threatening our healthcare system. Stay safe.”
Obaseki announced on Tuesday that he was leaving the APC after his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The incumbent who is seeking re-election was disqualified from partaking in the APC’s governorship primary on the basis of discrepancies in his names on his certificates and for dragging the party to court among other reasons.
