Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi, has expressed discontent at the news of Aaron Ramsey’s potential exit from Arsenal.
The Welshman is in the final year of his contract, with the Gunners hierarchy reluctant to offer an extension.
Ramsey, 27, moved to the Emirates from Cardiff City in 2008 – one year before nine-year-old Iwobi arrived.
While both have become teammates since 2015, the Nigerian still attributes his rise to the midfielder.
“He’s a great player. When I was breaking into the first team, I always used to watch and learn things for him. I am still doing that today, ” he told BT Sport.
“It would be a great miss if he goes but hopefully he can stay.
“We all want him to stay. Hopefully it can get sorted.”
Ramsey is reportedly on his way to either Manchester United or Liverpool.
Iwobi, meanwhile, is enjoying his football under Unai Emery.
Unlike previous campaigns, the Nigerian looks liberated and excited both on and off the pitch.
The 22-year-old has been involved in four goals thus far.
