Actress Iyabo Ojo has publicly debunked allegations made by self-styled investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo regarding her supposed arrest on the suspicion of being the controversial blogger Gistlover.
In a late-night Instagram live session on Monday, Iyabo addressed her fans, stating that she had received several calls and messages about the matter.
Contrary to Kemi’s claims, the mother of two stated she had been on a film set for nearly a week.
“We’ve been shooting for six days now, and yesterday we shot about 12 scenes,” she said.
Iyabo also mentioned her busy schedule, which included attending actress Fathia Williams’ father’s burial ceremony in Ikorodu.
Early Tuesday, the actress took to Instagram again, urging Nigerians to check on Kemi, suggesting that she might need medical attention.
Her post read, “Special attention: Please, someone should go and check on Kem Kem ASAP…. she is at her finally stage….. she needs medical attention urgently.”
The controversy began late Monday when Kemi, during an Instagram live session, claimed that Iyabo had been arrested for alleged threat to national security.
Kemi asserted that Iyabo was apprehended on Sunday by the national security adviser.
In a post on X, the controversial figure said: “#BREAKING Iyabo Ojo has been arrested by the NSA, picked up last night on suspicion of running Gistlover, a blog that has disrupted National Security.
“The same blog that spread Dr Kemi’s phone number, address, and pictures of her apartment online. She is a threat to society.”
Gistlover recently released a list of women who allegedly had romantic affairs with Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The list included celebrities such as Ini Edo, Nancy Isime, Hilda Baci, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Nwanneka Nkumah, and Nnadi Shontel among others. Dakore has since debunked the allegation.
