Actresses Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin have finally settled their long-standing feud outside of court.
Both stars confirmed the reconciliation in videos released on X on Thursday, June 6 by blogger Abdullah Ayofe, much to the delight of their fans and followers.
In one of the videos posted by the blogger, Iyabo revealed that the judge offered them motherly advice and urged them to cease their social media conflicts and embrace peace and understanding.
Lizzy also affirmed the settlement, expressing relief and gratitude for the resolution.
The online dispute had escalated to a point where Iyabo initiated legal proceedings against Lizzy for what she perceived as cyberbullying and defamation of character.
The case had been adjourned initially due to Lizzy’s failure to appear in court, leading to court letters being served at her residence.
The feud between the actresses began when Lizzy accused several celebrities of exploiting the death of the singer Oladimeji Aloba aka Mohbad last year for personal gain.
Though she didn’t directly name Iyabo, her social media posts insinuated allegations against a character named ‘Sepeteri,’ which is widely believed to be a pseudonym for Iyabo.
She also alleged that Iyabo engaged in promiscuous behaviour, including alleged involvement in a threesome with her daughter.
In November 2023, Iyabo threatened legal action over Lizzy’s statements, including allegations that Iyabo was behind the popular Gistlover blog, which Lizzy claimed was used to spread false information about her.
She demanded that Lizzy publicly retract all defamatory statements in four national newspapers, issue an unconditional apology on her verified social media accounts for 14 consecutive days, and pay N500 million in damages.
However, with the intervention of the judge, Iyabo and Lizzy have now put their differences aside, setting an example of reconciliation and maturity.
