Actress Iyabo Ojo on Tuesday celebrated the chairman of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo on his birthday.
The actress’s congratulatory message came as a surprise to many following the clash she had with some of her colleagues over her support for the Labour Party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi while MC Oluomo, described as one of her benefactors, was rooting for Bola Tinubu.
Although Iyabo did not make a special Instagram post to celebrate the transport union leader she dropped her message in the comment section post of his birthday post.
Iyabo drew controversy with her choice of the word “obediently” which is attributed to Obi’s supporters.
She wrote: “Happy birthday to my dear friend and padi for life, MC Oluomo, Ayinde mi owon, Gbade wolu 1, I’m obediently wishing you the very best in life & God bless your new age.”
Back in February, actress Dayo Amusa among others knocked Iyabo for not repaying MC Oluomo’s goodwill towards her by campaigning for Tinubu.
Dayo called out Iyabo, though she did not mention her name, and called her an ‘ingrate’ for referring to MC Oluomo as a thug.
She claimed the ‘thug’ was responsible for Iyabo’s welfare at some point in her life.
“When he dey pay your children’s school fees, e no be thug. When he dey pay your children’s birthday party bills, he no be thug!! When he dey pay your new house mortgage, he no be thug!! BLOODY INGRATE!” she wrote.
Iyabo responded to the backlash by saying that MC Oluomo was her friend and that he has been very supportive financially. She confirmed he gave her N3.5 million for her mum’s burial.
“MC Oluomo is my friend and he is a giver but that does not mean that I have to support his political candidate,” she said.
