Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has raised an alarm over alleged plan to release comedian Olanrewaju Omiyinka, alias Baba Ijesha, who was arrested last week for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl.
The 43-year-old mother of two made the revelation in a video uploaded to Instagram on Wednesday night.
According to her, comedian Princess, who is the foster mother of the alleged victim, informed her that some people were working to secure release of the accused.
Iyabo, who has been on warpath with Yomi Fabiyi and others campaigning for Baba Ijesha, however, promised to keep the public informed about developments in the matter.
Iyabo had earlier in the day rebuked Yomi Fabiyi over what is regarded as his disgraceful support for an accused rapist.
The actress’ action comes on the day Princess confirmed that the victim is one of six children kept in her care because she could not have a child of her own.
Yomi is leading a campaign that the CCTV recording said to have been made of Baba Ijesha assaulting the girl should be made public.
According to Iyabo, the bizarre campaign has misled others including Foluke Daramola to show tacit support for Baba Ijesha.
