Actress Iyabo Ojo has secured the release of Folashade Olalude, estranged wife of Lizzy Anjorin’s husband Adegboyega Lawal, from police custody.
In a video circulating on social media, Folashade who was surrounded by many, could be seen thanking Iyabo for coming to her aid.
Others also joined in thanking Iyabo as they made their way out of the police station.
This comes days after Iyabo made a video, claiming that Lizzy ordered Fola’s arrest over an ongoing investigation. She also said the woman told her that her estranged husband and his wife seized her assets and property.
Recall that in August 2022, it was reported that Mr Lawal filed a suit at the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos against his estranged wife and the police.
Lawal, in the suit filed by his lawyer, M. B. Bello, asked the court for “a declaration that the continuous harassment, humiliation, spreading of falsehood, and abuse on social media against him and his family by his estranged wife, is vindictive.
He also sought “An order of injunction restraining the second and third respondents, whether by themselves, their officers, agents, servants, privies or acting through any person or persons howsoever from further harassing, humiliating, embarrassing and threatening to detain the applicant based on the false and unfounded allegations from the first respondent.”
But Folashade, the first respondent in the suit, in her counter affidavit filed by her lawyer, Wahab Shittu, has asked the court to dismiss Lawal’s case because it seeks to truncate an ongoing police investigation against him.
Lawal has two children with Folashade whom he married in 2017.
