President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday met with the Edo All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
Chairman of APC Caretaker Committee Governor Mai Mala Buni led Mr Ize-Iyamu to the meeting.
Others who were part of the meeting were the chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and Governor of Kebbi State Atiku Bagudu and his Kano counterpart Abdulahi Ganduje.
Buni told State House correspondents that Buhari presented the party’s flag to Ize-Iyamu during the meeting.
Ize-Iyamu, however, debunked claims that the members of the state House of Assembly met on Thursday at his house and elected a factional speaker.
“Let me debunk the statement that 17 members of the State House of Assembly sat in my sitting room, it is not true,” he said.
