Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led state officials on Friday to the Ilupeju residence of the late ex-governor of Lagos Lateef Jakande for his eighth-day fidau prayer.
Jakande died on February 11 at the age of 91. He was buried the following day at the Vaults and Gardens private cemetery Ikoyi, Lagos.
Also present at the fidau prayer was former governor of Lagos Bola Tinubu, Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, former Ogun State governor Olusegun Osoba, former inspector-general of police Musliliu Smith among others.
Commissioner of police in Lagos Hakeem Odumosu led security presence at the Jakande’s residence.
Fondly called Baba Kekere, Jakande was the first civilian governor of Lagos between October 1, 1979 and December 31, 1983.
