American singer, Janet Jackson, on Wednesday night announced on social media that the report published by gossip website, Radar Online, on Tuesday stating that “doctors found a growth on her vocal cords” is untrue.
Using snippets from her song, ‘The Great Forever’ off the Unbreakable album, Jackson sang in a Twitter post, “Sources say but where ya gettin’ it? Don’t create the truth you like.”
In an Instagram post, the 49-year-old stated, “Remember … believe it when you hear it from my lips.”
She continued, “The rumours are untrue. I do not have cancer. I’m recovering. My doctors have approved my concerts as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled. Thank you for your prayers and love.”
Jackson had announced on December 24, 2015 that she needed to postpone upcoming tour dates to undergo surgery.
“I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon, It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable tour until the spring,” she wrote.
Jackson did not elaborate on her condition at the time, saying, “there will be no further comment.”
Her UK tour dates, which include concerts in Birmingham, Glasgow and London in March and April, are still scheduled to hold.
