Singer Oluwajuwonlo Iledare, known professionally as Jaywon, has publicly expressed his displeasure with his younger colleague Ayra Starr for allegedly using a viral picture of the two of them to promote her new album.
Jaywon took to X on Thursday night, June 20 to voice his concerns directly to Ayra Starr’s fanbase. He stated, “To the sisterhood, your igbekere sister has been using my picture to promote her album disrespectfully. A picture that I took with her out of love and none of y’all are calling her out. When I come for una mama, let nobody tell me shiiit. Since na who dey mad una dey like.”
Jaywon emphasised that the photo, which has garnered significant attention online, was taken out of goodwill. However, he feels that Ayra Starr’s use of the image for promotional purposes shows lack of respect.
This viral photo, which first circulated earlier this year, shows Ayra Starr holding Jaywon’s hand in an unconventional manner as though she was preventing him from touching her. The pose quickly drew the attention of netizens and became a talking point due to the peculiar way Ayra Starr held Jaywon’s wrist with the tips of her fingers.
Additionally, Jaywon addressed another controversy involving Odumodublvck. In a separate post on X, Jaywon responded to Odumodublvck’s remarks made during a recent podcast in which the latter claimed that no one, including Jaywon, paved the way for him in the music industry.
Jaywon fired back, saying, “The only reason why you are relevant this whole year. You go show na Jaywon. You go podcast na Jaywon because you are really not all that. Just a fluke and instead of you to calm down and enjoy the fame and the attention you are getting, you want to banter with me. I pity.”
Jaywon and Odumodublvck have been at each other’s throats for some time. Earlier this year, the two had a heated exchange where Jaywon suggested that he paved the way for Odumodublvck. In response, the ‘Blood on the Dance Floor’ singer mocked Jaywon, referencing the viral photo with Ayra Starr and insinuating that Jaywon’s influence in the industry was exaggerated.
