Actress Jemima Osunde has apologised for mocking Vera Anyim, a member of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, whom Pastor Paul Eneche accused of giving fake testimony in church
Vera Anyim was berated by the pastor after she claimed to be the first graduate in her family with a BSc in law from the National Open University (NOUN).
While reprimanding her, Paul Eneche pointed out that there’s no such degree as a BSc in law, casting doubt on her testimony.
Weighing in on the matter in a post on X, Jemima defended Eneche as she mocked and accused Vera of lying.
“Pastor Paul is human. You too if someone should lie to you like that unprovoked won’t you be announced? Bsc Law. Lmao. Like what would make a person decide to go to church and give a false testimony? I am trying to understand it,” Jemima wrote with several laugh emojis.
However, after pictures of Vera at her graduation surfaced on Monday, Jemima made a U-turn and apologised for mocking the woman.
She wrote: “I laughed at it last night cause I thought it was true. I found it funny cause a real case of that would’ve been funny to me. I’ve seen today that she did actually graduate and I’ve deleted the tweets I laughed about it. Congratulations Ms Vera and I’m sorry for believing you were lying and laughing about it.”
