Filmmaker Jeta Amata on Thursday raised alarm over the whereabouts of his ex-wife Mbong.
Jeta and Mbong got married in 2008; they separated in 2013 and were divorced by 2014. They have a daughter together named Veno.
In an Instagram post, Jeta called for help, saying Mbong has not been in contact with their daughter.
He added that no one seems to know anything about Mbong whose last Instagram post was in January when she went shopping for make-up.
“Can someone please just ask why Mbong has been gone from social media all year? No one seems to know anything, and it’s affecting my daughter that no one would tell us,” he wrote. “She wants to see her mother. If she’s not too well, Veno wants to go and be by her side and we need to know to stop worrying.”
Jeta also replied Oreva, son of his older brother Fred Amata, who advised him to remove the post as he loves Jeta, his ex-wife and daughter “too much” to watch him come to social media to “air out your laundry”.
“What laundry?” Jeta asked. “When last did you ask for her or speak with her? Why aren’t you worried? You don’t hear from your sister for a long time and you don’t out why.”
Jeta and Mbong have remained within reach since they went separate ways and have even worked on a movie together.
