Yoruba movie stars including Jide Kosoko, Adebayo Salami, also known as Oga Bello, Taiwo Hassan, better known as Ogogo, Faithia Williams, Yinka Quadri, Lanre Hassan, popularly known as Iya Awero, Eniola Ajao, Olaiya Igwe, Foluke Daramola, Femi Adebayo, Shola Kosoko and Murphy Afolabi have declared their support for APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.
The show of support by the entertainers was made in a video uploaded on Instagram on Wednesday, June 29, by Quadri, Kosoko, Murphy and others.
In the video, Oga Bello who led the team as they campaigned for Tinubu in the Yoruba language, began by saying, “I want to use this time to congratulate our leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
Jide Kosoko joined him saying, “Nobody deserves to be the flag bearer of APC.”
“If not Akanbi omo olodo ide,” Yinka added.
Toyin Adegbola, better known as Toyin Tomato, followed saying, “With the support of God.”
“And the support of good Nigerian citizens,” Ogogo responded.
Iya Awero added: “The position of Nigeria’s president.
Femi Adebayo joined saying, “Prosperity will happen in our country.”
Others like Faithia Williams, Eniola Ajao, Foluke Daramola, Shola Kosoko, Olusoji Taiwo, Madam Saje, Abbey Lanre, Yemi Ayebo, Funke Etti, Toyosi Adesanya and Murphy Afolabi also stated reasons why they believe Tinubu deserves the presidential seat.
Speaking on why he has decided to throw his weight behind Tinubu, Jide Kosoko said: “I stand with Tinubu. I have witnessed his achievement as a Genuine Leader over the years, his support for humanity and the creative industry in particular.
“I am convinced he is a lover of old and new, especially the youth, considering the number he has raised politically, the majority of who are doing well as leaders today. Meaning he believes so much in youth as leaders of tomorrow as in today. Please give him the opportunity to complete transferring the technical know-how on his God-choosing assignment. ignore hate speeches by opponents and enemies. HONESTLY, WE NEED HIM. Let it not be another best president we would not have. Arise larika, arika baba iregun.”
