Actor James Ikechukwu, popularly known as Jim Iyke, has revealed that YouTube recently removed his latest film, Light in the Dark, from its platform.
The movie had gained significant traction, with over 600k views before being taken down.
In a video shared on Instagram, Jim Iyke urged his followers to watch the film again, as it had been re-uploaded after being edited to address concerns over one of its scenes.
According to the actor, the scene was deemed inappropriate following reports from viewers, prompting YouTube to take the film down.
“Hey everyone, the original version of our movie Light in the Dark on JIMIYKE TV was taken down. They deemed one of the scenes inappropriate from the feedback received. It has been challenging, to say the least.
“Over 600k views accumulated in a few days. The time, effort, and passion my team put into these projects is inestimable. But I’m not deterred. My energy has always stemmed from positivity and a winning mentality,” Jim Iyke shared.
This is not the first time the actor has faced challenges with the platform. He recalled losing his YouTube channel, which had over a million subscribers, after it was reported.
Despite this setback, Jim Iyke rebuilt his channel from scratch, and it is now gradually gaining momentum again.
In his message to fans, Jim Iyke expressed his determination to continue his work, regardless of the hurdles.
He emphasised the importance of perseverance in the face of setbacks, thanking his supporters for their continued loyalty.
In December 2024, actor Gideon Okeke publicly criticized Jim Iyke, referring to him as a “small boy” and accusing him of lacking authenticity.
The feud reportedly stemmed from an incident on a movie set where Okeke sustained an injury, leading him to question workplace safety standards. Okeke mentioned that it took three months to heal from the injury.
