Controversial actor Uche Maduagwu has confirmed that his colleague Jim Iyke paid him N4.8m to pull a stunt on the public and promote his movie, Bad Comments.
Uche made this known in an Instagram post on Wednesday, bragging as he calls himself ‘the biggest brand influencer.
“He paid me N3.6 million to promote Bad Comments movie and added N1.2 million after it went viral. I’m not just the most talked-about movie star in Africa. I’m the biggest brand influencer,” Uche boasted.
“Jim Iyke is like a big brother to me. He saw potentials in me. Today, Bad Comments movie became the biggest cinema film in 2021 because he saw my brand influencing power and worked with me. Mr. Moses is a great director too. I influence brands to success because I am the most talked-about movie star for Africa,” he added.
The post was made moments after Jim revealed that he paid Uche to beat him in a video that went viral last year.
Speaking in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the 45-year-old said: “It was orchestrated, I can say it now. I’ve given you two scripts. Do I look like the kind of person that just before the introduction of one of the most important works in my entire career would go and jeopardize it with that? No, I’m too strategic.
“I called the man, we had an understanding, I paid very well for it, rolled out the script, called Moses in, we shot it and we’re about to release the ending of it. I’m not stupid. I will never make that kind of mistake.
