Former director-general of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms Joe Abah has stepped down from his role as moderator of the virtual town hall meeting scheduled for 3pm Frday.
Dr Abah’s decision came after singer Falz declined to be part of the meeting for allegedly being given false information.
He urged that the format of the meeting be changed to hear more youth voices.
“Following @falzthebahdguy’s withdrawal from this event & the absence of more youth voices, I will regrettably no longer be moderating this event,” Abah tweeted.
“I was only ever meant to be the moderator. Nothing else. I suggest that the format for the event be changed to hear more youth voices.”
According to the programme, the virtual town hall meeting organised by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development will have the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu, Minister of Youth and Sports Development Sunday Dare and the National Human Rights Commission discuss actions against police brutality.
The panelists include the IGP, Falz, Abah, Segun Awosanya aka Segalink and Ife Durosinmi-Etti.
Falz’s withdrawal is believed to be from the general consensus among the protesters that there are no leaders for the #EndSARS campaign.
