Nigeria international John Ogu has lost his mother to an undisclosed ailment.
The midfielder announced the death in a tweet on Monday evening, saying “Worse (sic) day of my life.”
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) commiserated with the 32-year-old on the loss.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with @NGSuperEagles midfielder @ogujohnugo following the passing of his Mom. May her gentle soul rest In peace,” the NFF tweeted.
Ogu had several times in the past flown his mum abroad to undergo treatment for undisclosed ailment.
His mother, according to a tweet by the midfielder in June 2020, used to run a food canteen in Surulere, Lagos during Ogu’s childhood.
