John Ogu may be an integral part of the Super Eagles squad yet the combative midfielder isn’t taking his recent invite for granted.
Alongside 27 others, Ogu was picked by head coach, Gernot Rohr, for the pre-World Cup warm-up games against Poland and Serbia later in March.
Ogu was exceptional in the country’s last two games against Algeria and Argentina, scoring a ferocious volley away at the former.
Despite almost sealing his spot on the plane to Russia, the Hapoel Be’er Sheva star isn’t carried away.
In a Twitter post, on Thursday, the 29-year-old expressed his delight to be invited.
I feel blessed to be called up for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in our upcoming friendlies . I will never Joke with this opportunities and Privilege.

Ogu will have to impress further in forthcoming games to displace Rohr’s preferred midfield trio of Mikel Obi, Ogenyi Onazi and Wilfred Ndidi.
He has been capped 16 times with two goals to show.
