Women in Successful Careers (WISCAR) will host its annual leadership and mentoring conference themed “Enriching Lives by Telling Our Own Stories” at the MUSON Centre, Lagos on Saturday, November 24.
The conference aims to highlight the importance of role modelling and mentorship by successful women leaders as a gift to the next generation in national development.
Keynote speaker for the event is the former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia.
Sirleaf Johnson is a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and Africa’s first female president.
Other speakers include chairperson, Nelson Mandela University Council, Ambassador Nozipho January Bardill; managing director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala Usman; chair, Lagos State Council of Arts and Culture, Polly Alakija; CEO, Secure ID Group, Kofo Akinkugbe, deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Aisha Ahmad, and WISCAR founder, Amina Oyagbola.
They will give the audience front-row insights based on their experience and facts on workplaces and institutions.
The event will be compered by a notable organisational effectiveness consultant, Habiba Balogun.
Innovative Nigerian playwright and artiste, Ifeoma Fafunwa, will also present thought-provoking sketches during the course of the programme.
The WISCAR conference affords women of all works of life and ages the opportunity to learn, grow, network, contribute and add value to themselves, their families, fellow women, and the society at large.
