Actress Joke Silva has shared her thoughts on the collapsed Ikoyi building.
Reacting in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Joke said that buildings must be tested before purchase or lease for structural integrity.
“Not only must our buildings be accessible for ALL, they must be tested before purchase or lease for structural integrity,” she wrote.
A pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Ola Ogunfuwa and 22 others said to be working with him are among those stuck in the rubble of the 21-storey building which collapsed in the Ikoyi area of Lagos on Monday.
The General Manager, Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) Gbolahan Oki also stated that the owner of the collapsed building under construction has been arrested and would be prosecuted.
