Chelsea has announced the signing of Italy international midfielder Jorginho from Napoli.
The 26-year-old Brazil-born star has signed a five-year contract with the Blues and will wear the number five shirt.
Jorginho follows Maurizio Sarri from Naples to Stamford Bridge, after the Italian boss was appointed the new Chelsea manager on Saturday morning.
While the London club has not disclosed the fee, it is claimed the Premier League side have paid £50million, rising to a potential £57million, for the in-demand midfielder.
Jorginho reportedly passed up the chance to sign for Premier League champions Manchester City to join the Blues.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the new arrival said: “I am absolutely ecstatic to be here at Chelsea.
“It is not easy to become part of such a big team so I am very, very happy. I am excited to play in such an intense league, for a team that gives everything to play and win.”

“He was one of the most coveted midfielders in Europe and will become an important member of the playing squad.
He has demonstrated his quality working under Maurizio Sarri and we are convinced his signing will help bring further success to Stamford Bridge.”
