Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho, is heavily linked with a shock return to former club, Real Madrid, according to Fichajes, as reported by the Daily Star.
The 52-year-old led the Blues to the Premier League crown last season, but has so far failed to inspire his team into replicating their outstanding form from the previous campaign.
And it is now rumoured that the Portuguese manager has been in constant contact with Real president, Florentino Perez, and could jump at the opportunity of reuniting with the capital club.
His Chelsea side are currently 12th in the league, picking up only three wins from their previous nine matches, with 10 points separating them from Manchester City in first.
Mourinho has always been critical of the officiating and Football Association in England, suggesting they are all biased against him and the ugly battle with former team doctor, Eva Caneiro, hasn’t helped his course.
However, despite his squad’s performance in recent months, club owner Roman Abramovich publically admitted that he is backing the Portuguese manager to lead the team back into the top four.
The Blues picked up all three points at the weekend against Aston Villa, but were unable to overcome Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League, drawing the Ukrainian outfits 0-0 on Tuesday.
