Actress Uche Ogbodo has said that her colleague Adanma Luke is innocent and should not be blamed for the boat accident that killed Junior Pope and others.
Uche Ogbodo said this in an Instagram post on Friday after the national president of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas said that legal action will be taken against Adanma and the Association of Movie Producers (AMP).
Reacting, Uche drummed support for the movie producer writing, “It is Unfair that We Sit this one out! Nollywood Actors! No I refuse to Sit this one out! Many people are shouting Roast Her Roast her because She is an Actor Turn Producer!
“The Enmity steams from there! Let Us not Sit it out and Allow our Friend and Colleague be Used as A Scapegoat for Same Mistake Many Big time producers have made countless Times in this Industry in the Past ! Let us come together and safeguard the Lives of Everyone. Instead of pressuring #adanmaluke to Commit Suicide. What do we Stand to Gain?#bikonu #ozoemnena.”
“This person have even reminded me a reason I need to go all out for My Friend! So I’m Setting a Ring Light at the moment!Let this innocent woman Be.don’t Support Evil in my life. That’s why God keeps lifting me far above Peoples understanding!#imnotchangingforanyone.”
Junior Pope was confirmed dead on April 10 after several attempts to resuscitate him failed. The actor alongside other crew members drowned in Anam River on their way back from the set of Another Side of Life, a movie produced by Adanma Luke.
Adanma was accused of negligence, following claims that she did not provide life jackets for her crew, a claim she later debunked, saying that life jackets were available but Junior Pope rejected his because it was dirty.
