Actress Chioma Ifemeludike has said that movie producer Adanma Luke must be held accountable over the death of Junior Pope and others.
Chioma made this known in an Instagram post on Friday after her colleague Uche Ogbodo drummed support for the movie producer as many blamed her for the death of Junior Pope and her crew members.
Sharing her thoughts on the matter, Chioma Ifemeludike said Adanma must be held accountable and should not be given special treatment as a colleague.
She wrote: “Human beings lost their lives not chickens, precautions should have been taken and yes, it could happen to anyone but that doesn’t mean we sweep the act of negligence that led to loss of lives under the carpet because Ada is our friend or sister or colleague, what about the kids that died? Don’t they have loved ones???
“If we do that others will go about doing things just anyhow… When people or authorities are held accountable it serves as a deterrent to others… I’m sorry but these sentiments you people are mopping up is only seen in societies like ours (and that’s why we where we are) and people with low intellectual capacity not for me… absolutely not! Adamaluke (sic) must be held accountable! Just like anyone else.
Junior Pope was confirmed dead on April 10 after several attempts to resuscitate him failed. The actor alongside other crew members drowned in Anam River on their way back from the set of Another Side of Life, a movie produced by Adanma Luke.
Adanma was accused of negligence, following claims that she did not provide life jackets for her crew, a claim she later debunked, saying that life jackets were available but Junior Pope rejected his because it was dirty.
