Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, on Monday afternoon paid a courtesy visit to All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Bola Tinubu, in Abuja.
It comes a day after Akpabio visited vacationing President Muhammadu Buhari in London.
The former Akwa Ibom State governor is expected to defect from the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling APC on Thursday.
He had visited Tinubu at the latter’s home in Lagos on Saturday.
Akpabio met Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the State House on Wednesday last week.
His impending defection follows that of Senate President Bukola Saraki and that of other federal and state lawmakers from the APC to the PDP.
Governors Samuel Ortom, Abdulfatah Ahmed and Aminu Tambuwal of Benue, Kwara and Sokoto states respectively have also left the ruling party for the opposition.
