The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday arrested a former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode over alleged forgery and manipulation of documents.
EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwujaren confirmed that Mr Fani-Kayode was questioned in Lagos.
“I think something like that happened,” he told PUNCH, declining to comment further.
Fani-Kayode had only rejoined the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in September.
Channels TV gathered that the ex-minister was interrogated over a medical report which he allegedly procured to evade his trial before a Federal High Court in Lagos.
The medical report was reportedly presented before Justice Daniel Osiagor of the Federal High Court, Lagos on October 13 when Fani-Kayode was supposed to be re-arraigned.
The EFCC had charged Fani-Kayode alongside a former minister of finance, Nenadi Usman, and two others on 17 counts of conspiracy, money laundering, and fraud before Justice Rilwan Aikawa who has now been transferred.
