Two siblings Ifezue Chiamaka and Ifezue Emeka have been arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Grade I, Enugu North over the death of Ijeoma Nneke a 27-year-old make-up artist.
Magistrate J. I. Agu ordered on Wednesday that the siblings be remanded at the Enugu correctional facility.
The duo was charged on two counts of conspiracy and murder.
The police alleged the suspects forced the deceased to drink a substance believed to be poisoned after which they poured acid on her.
Prosecuting counsel Chike Nwachukwu told journalists after the remand proceeding that the police have completed their investigation and have ample evidence to prosecute the matter and ensure that justice is served.
Ms Nneke was on November 11, 2020, booked for a make-up job in an undisclosed location but was told to get to ESBS bus-stop where she would be picked up.
Nnamdi Nneke, brother of the deceased, said the family learnt that one of the suspects claimed the make-up artist was in a relationship with her supposed boyfriend.
He further said the suspects were tracked after Nneke sent a message to her colleague when she sensed all was not well.
“They called her to come for a make-up job which was a fake job because there was no job. When she got to the venue, she was locked up, drugged and was killed by pouring acid on her body,” he said.
The case has been adjourned to February 24, 2021.
