Nigerians on social media are calling for justice for a student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) who died after being raped inside a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
The victim, Uwa Omozuwa, on May 27, 2020, was said to have visited the RCCG, Edo Province 10, Ikpoba Hill, Benin, to read.
Some men were reported to have made their way into the church auditorium where they struck her in the head with a fire extinguisher, raped her and left her for dead.
Ms Omozuwa, 22, was found by the church’s security guard and taken to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital where she narrated her ordeal.
She died three days later.
The case was reported at the Oregbeni Police Station, Benin.
