Actress Dayo Amusa has yet dismissed rumors suggesting she has a romantic relationship with Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate.
Speaking in an interview on Oyinmomo TV, Amusa clarified that her bond with K1 is not romantic but built on mutual respect and unwavering support.
She explained that people often assume a close relationship between a man and a woman must be romantic, but in her case, K1 has been more of a mentor and father figure.
“Alhaji K1 is my friend, father figure, and adviser. People assume there is more to our relationship, but there isn’t. Not every man you meet, you have an affair with.
“I’ve heard this rumor countless times to the point that I feel like just accepting it. But deep down, I know the kind of relationship I have with him,” she said.
The actress expressed gratitude for K1’s support, revealing that he provided encouragement during difficult moments in her career.
“Whoever has wiped your tears in a circumstance where you never expected that kind of person to help, he should be adored for the rest of your life. That is the kind of relationship I have with him,” she added.
Amusa noted that speculation about their relationship likely started after K1 appeared in her movie.
However, she clarified that she was not the one who invited him but chose not to share details publicly.
This comes amid ongoing speculation about the paternity of Amusa’s newborn child.
In November 2024, she firmly denied claims linking K1 to her baby, reiterating that their bond is purely one of mentorship.
Similar rumours about Amusa and K1 first surfaced in 2014, which she also publicly denied.
