Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has paid tribute to the late singer Mohbad.
The 66-year-old expressed sadness over Mohbad’s death at his installation ceremony as Olori Omo Oba Akile of Ijebu-Ode on Tuesday, praying that the late 27-year-old’s soul rests in peace.
“Unfortunately something happened to us a while ago. It caught us all unawares and it set us back. Made us feel bad about ourselves and our attitude. Mohbad, rest in peace. Mohbad, we pray to God almighty, may his soul rest in perfect peace,” K1 said.

K1 was installed as the Olori Omo Oba Akile of Ijebu Ode on Tuesday after completing his seven-day seclusion rite on Sunday at his Ojushagbola family house in Ijebu-Ode.
Personalities like Eniola Badmus, 9ice, Small Doctor, MC Oluomo, Fathia Williams and KS1 Malaika, among others, were present at the ceremony.
The title was formerly held by the late founder of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Subomi Balogun. The billionaire died on Thursday, May 18.
K1 is also the Mayegun of Yorubaland. He was given the title on January 13, 2020.
Meanwhile, Mohbad died on Tuesday, September 12, leaving behind his wife, his five-month-old son and his parents.
There is presently controversy surrounding the cause of his death.
To unravel the mystery, the Lagos Police Command set up an investigation panel.
Mohbad’s corpse was exhumed on Thursday, September 21 for an autopsy to determine the cause of his death.
