Former chairman of First Bank of Nigeria Ltd Ibukun Awosika on Thursday paid tributes to actor Kabiri Fubara who lost a battle with kidney cancer.
Awosika recalled in an Instagram post how Kabiri played the lead male role in the movie God Calling which she executive-produced.
“An exceptional gentleman, a great actor, a delightful human being to know, above all, a sincere child of God whom I had the privilege to get to know very well during and after my role as executive producer of ‘God Calling’ where he was our lead male actor,” she wrote.
According to her, Kabiri “never lost his smile, his faith and his good nature” despite his pain.
“Grateful we can see you over and over again as we look at the legacy of your works and most of all, we will see you in heaven. Rest well in heaven my dear ‘aburo,'” she added.
Kabiri, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2020, has featured in several movies and TV series including Quam’s Money, Castle and Castle, Royal Hibiscus Hotel, Smart Money and others.
The actor married celebrity stylist Yolanda Okere in December 2018.
