A magistrate court sitting at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport has sentenced Kannywood actress, Sadiya Haruna, to six months in prison without an option of a fine.
Sadiya was recently arraigned before the court on charges of defaming her ex-boyfriend, actor, Isah A. Isah.
In a viral video, the actress was seen calling Isah a homosexual, a bastard, and an unrepentant womaniser.
She had alleged that the actor demanded anal sex from her.
In August 2021, a Sharia court sitting in Kano state convicted Sadiya of obscenity and indecent acts after she was arraigned for uploading sexual content on her social media handles.
The actress and social media blogger was arrested by the Kano State Hisbah board for sharing sexual content on her handles.
The movie star pleaded guilty to a one-count charge of obscenity and indecent act, which contradicts section 355 of Penal Code Law 2000.
Justice Ali Jibril Danzaki, the presiding judge thereafter convicted her and ordered that she attend a Darul Hadith Islamiyya session at Tudun Yola Quarters for a period of six months as the sentencing for her offence.
