Kannywood actor and director Aminu S. Bono has died.
According to BBC Pidgin, the filmmaker died in a hospital on Monday evening after collapsing.
His colleague Babangida Bangis also confirmed his death.
“He was not sick, in fact, we were supposed to meet earlier on and after we spoke on the phone, I was told he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead,” Bangis said.
Bangis also disclosed that Aminu Bono will be buried on Tuesday according to Muslim rites.
Another actor Yakubu Mohammed also confirmed Aminu’s death on Instagram.
He shared photos of the deceased via Instagram with the caption: “Allah ya gafarta maka Mal Aminu. This is heartbreaking RIJF.”

Another actor Ali Nuhu mourned Aminu on Instagram.
He also posted Aminu’s picture with the caption: “Allah ya jikan da rahama @aminusbono, ya sa aljanna ce makomarka.”
Aminu has produced several movies like Manyan Mata, Dan Gwamna, Nasamo Me Kahina, Alaqa and Daukaka.
