Enyimba dreams of clinching the Aiteo Cup have been dashed following a pitiful 4-2 defeat to Kano Pillars on Sunday in Gombe.
The Aba Elephants had hoped to at least reach the last four of the oldest club competition in the country.
However, Enyimba’s dreadful week continued with another loss after crashing at home to Raja Casablanca in the Confederation Cup semi-final.
The record champions started strongly and took an early lead through Stephen Chukwude.
Veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali restored parity for Pillars moments after.
Then Chris Madaki put the Kano-based in front for the first time.
Ifeanyi Nweke doubled the lead before Nyima Nwagua killed the game.
Enyimba, though, got one back through Sunday Adetunji but it was a little too late.

The People’s Elephants will be aiming to turn the tide when they visit Raja next week.
