Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has appealed to residents of the state to bear with the government over the lingering fuel and power shortage in the state.
In a statement issued today by the state’s Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, the governor said Lagos consumes about 40 per cent of the power and fuel needs of the country, and said therefore that the impacts of the scarcity would be felt more in the state.
Mr. Ambode urged residents of the state to remain calm, orderly and law-abiding as government is doing everything possible within its power to resolve the crisis.
According to Mr. Ayorinde, the governor shared the pains and discomfort of Lagosians.
Governor Ambode also assured residents of the state that President Muhammadu Buhari was deeply touched by the situation.
He added that the President was working relentlessly to ensure the crisis is resolved, which he said would alleviate the suffering of the people.
