Super Eagles star Kelechi Iheanacho has been seen in a viral video playfully appearing to sell shirts to his teammates.
In the clip, the Sevilla forward is seen standing beside Taiwo Awoniyi who tries out a white shirt. Victor Boniface and others in the room urged Awoniyi to take the shirt.
Iheanacho also presented a black shirt to his teammates which has an image of the boy band Backstreet Boys. “Going, going,” the former Leicester City player said, as if urging his teammates to grab the offer.
It could not be immediately confirmed if the video was shot recently.
Football lovers have been giving their opinions on the video on social media.
Nigeria will play Libya in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers by 5pm on Friday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.
The Super Eagles opened their campaign with a commanding 3-0 victory over Benin Republic and followed up with a goalless draw against Rwanda.
Libya, however, have struggled in the group stages. The Mediterranean Knights earned a 1-1 draw in their home opener against Rwanda but suffered a defeat on the road against Benin, leaving them with one point in the standings.
Nigeria’s solid start in the qualifiers puts them in a favorable position to secure a place in the 2025 AFCON tournament.
The Super Eagles also hold a psychological and historical advantage, having won all previous encounters with Libya.
