Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, officially became a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after collecting her membership card in Abeokuta, Ogun State on Saturday.
Mrs Adeosun got her card in the presence APC national financial secretary, Tajudeen Bello, on the day the party held its ward congress nationwide.
A chartered accountant, Adeosun was appointed finance minister by President Muhammadu Buhari in November 2015.
She succeeded Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala who served under immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan.
Born in England to Nigerian parents from Ogun State, Adeosun, 51, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of East London and a Postgraduate Diploma in public financial management from the University of London.
She qualified as a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1994.
After years of senior corporate appointments in England, she was appointed commissioner for finance in Ogun State by Governor Ibikunle Amosun from 2011 till 2015.
