Stephen Keshi, the iconic Nigerian footballer and coach, died on Wednesday of suspected cardiac arrest.
The Big Boss, as he was popularly known, will be remembered as the first Nigerian to play professional football in Cote d’Ivoire and then in Belgium, and the first coach to qualify two African countries – Togo and Nigeria – for the FIFA World Cup.
Femi Ipaye captured the images below on September 3, 2012 at the Abuja National Stadium training pitch when Keshi was tutoring the home based Super Eagles in preparation for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations which Nigeria eventually won in South Africa.
