Spokesman of Buhari 2019 Presidential Campaign, Festus Keyamo, has celebrated human rights activist, Gani Fawehinmi, on his 81st posthumous birthday.
Fawehinmi, who was born on April 22, 1938, died of lung cancer on September 5, 2009 at the age of 71.
In a tweet on Monday, Mr Keyamo said the fierce activist abhorred corruption and stood by President Muhammadu Buhari for that reason.
“Happy 81st posthumous birthday to my boss, Chief Gani Fawehinmi. You abhorred corruption; that’s why you stood by PMB till death. Your staunch disciples & your son, Mohammed, are still on the path you left for us. Thank u for standing by me in all my struggles. Rest in peace, sir,” Keyamo wrote.
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) also tweeted: “Happy posthumous birthday to legendary Chief Gani Fawehinmi.”
Fawehinmi was in 2018 posthumously awarded the national honour of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).
