Minister of state for labour and employment Festus Keyamo has buried his father Mathias Keyamo in Effurun, Warri, Delta State.
The elder Keyamo passed on at the age of 83 on March 5, 2022.
Those present at the funeral included Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege; and chief of staff to the president, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
Others were federal lawmakers, ministers, ex-governors, and traditional rulers.
Osinbajo said the late Keyamo deserved to be celebrated as he distinguished himself in both private and public endeavours.
“…We celebrate here today a true Nigerian, who was born in Delta, dwelled in Kaduna and got married to a Yoruba woman, Caroline,” he said.
According to him, the legacy of great people does not need any elaboration as it was very evident in their children and grandchildren.
“And we have seen and heard today from his children, we have heard from his grandchildren, and we know that all of them, in public and private life, have distinguished themselves,” he said.
