Emir of Kajuru in Kaduna Alhassan Adamu, who was abducted on Sunday, has regained his freedom, police said.
Kaduna police spokesman Mohammed Jalige confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday.
He said the second class traditional ruler was released Monday evening, and is now in his palace.
It was reported earlier in the day that the kidnappers had demanded N200 million to free the monarch.
Mr Jalige said details of how the ruler was freed would be communicated in due course.
The emir was kidnapped with 10 members of his family in the early hours of Sunday in Kajuru town of Kajuru Local Government Area.
The police spokesman was silent on the other victims.
